Primary school Barilović conducts primary education for students. For the last four years, the school has been conducting an experimental program "School for Life" through which new curricula of all subjects and seven interdisciplinary topics have been implemented. We are open to cooperation, communication and partnership in projects. We hope our pupils will improve their language skills, get more motivated for learning, and get information about other cultures. We are open to new methods of teaching and improving quality. The school conducts a number of sports activities, the project Teaching in the Garden, a Student Cooperative, a technical workshop, students learn English and optionally German and Italian from the fourth grade. All students start computer science from the first grade.
In Croatia, there is a focus on the curriculum reform and Primary school Barilović is one of selected schools for an experimental implementation of the new curriculum. Key areas of the Comprehensive curricular reform are the introduction of learning outcomes, problem solving, learning to learn, cross- curricular topics, and assessment. The school has experience in implementing new teaching methods. The school has the status of an eTwinning school and experience in leading and participating in eTwinning projects. The school participated in Erasmus KA229 project and it is a beginner in the coordination of the Erasmus KA210 project Small Partnerships.
