The ancestors of the eastern people were called Lemurians. They were slaves of a race called the Red People (only a few scholars know their real name, the Naacal).
An unknown time ago they threw off their slave masters. The Red People fled west, into what is now Stygia.
Some of the Lemurians followed their former masters west, stopping at the great inland sea and settling what is now Hyrkania. The rest stayed in the ruins of their former masters, founding what is now Khitai.
A few migrated south around the Himelian Mountains, founding what is now Vendhya and Kosala.
History does not record the timeline of these events, but it must have been a very long time ago, time enough for these nations to evolve into very different cultures.
