Pheasant and Hare take a walk together exploring the beauty of the forest.
The Pheasant and the Hare was produced by Squideo from an idea and a script by Alex who won a Write a Script competition open to secondary school students in the UK, on the theme of art and philosophy.
When asked what message the script was delivering, Alex said that, in the modern era, as people lead busy lives, it can be easy to get caught up in the constant work that comes with our jobs, our social standards, and our hobbies. However, once every so often, we should pause, remove ourselves from our situation and appreciate what is around us. It may not be easy to do so, yet it is integral for recognising the art that is the natural world.
Nature facts
Hares are very active animals and can run fast, up to 45mph when chased by a predator. Although pheasants can run, they are much slower than hares (up to 10mph) and they prefer to wander leisurely. So it is apt for our busy character to be a hare and our more contemplative character to be a pheasant!
