The Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force also known as the UAPTF was established by the Department of Defense to improve its understanding of, and gain insight into, the nature and origins of UAPs and UFOs. the goal of the UAPTF is to detect, analyze and catalog UAPs and UFOs that could potentially pose a threat to U.S. national security. The UAPTF was the second program of such a nature to be established by the United States government after Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program. The UAPTF would later be succeeded by 2 branching organizations; One being the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office and the other being the Airborne Object Identification and Management Synchronization Group.
