The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office or AARO researches unidentified flying objects, or UFOs, and other phenomena in the air, sea, and/or space and/or on land. They study what is sometimes referred to as unidentified aerial phenomena or unidentified anomalous phenomena, or UAPs. AARO is the third program of such a nature to be established by the United States government after the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program and its subsequent successor of the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force. It is one of 2 branching successors to the UAPTF, the other being the Airborne Object Identification and Management Synchronization Group.
