“Advancing Human Rights” becomes the main topic on focus of HRC Delegate

The delegates of the HRC had a comprehensive discussion on the subject of advancing human rights on the second day of the TESMUN conference.
Opening the general speakers session, the delegate of Syria raised a motion that was approved and the agenda was set by the delegate of Nigeria. The delegate of China moved forward to start the GSL on the topic “Addressing Violations and Enabling Equality.” China, Afghanistan, Japan, Switzerland, and other 11 countries gave their GSL where they provided facts and argued about the stated agenda.
After the GSL of Afghanistan, China, the USA, and other countries like Ukraine inquired what the government of Afghanistan was doing to manage the situation of human rights. “Women are prohibited from their basic rights which has persisted them in being reluctant about raising their voice ” the delegate of Pakistan added but as time completed, those questions remained unanswered.
In the GSL given by the delegate of Israel, the delegate of India was mentioned a few times by mentioning the protests there about women's rights. The delegate of India responded by telling how the government of India has been providing services for human rights and delegates of Ukraine and Germany supported India.
During the GSL of the delegate of India, the delegate was targeted by the delegates of China, Pakistan, and UAE on the subject of the worsening condition of human rights in India. The delegate of India replied with ethical points about people being educated and helping organizations and the delegate’s point was quite noticeable by the executive board.The delegate also talked about their traditions which impressed the chair and vice chair of the committee. ”Good research” the chair of HRC exclaimed to the delegate of India.
Accordingly, 15 countries gave their GSL, and the last delegate to give GSL was Kenya talking about their government and organizations working on the implementation of their laws and rules.
The committee decided to start a moderated caucus as per the motion raised by the delegate of China on the topic “Women Trafficking” that will be held for 25 minutes and will be continued till August 9 of 2023.
