Pelagia (pell-awj-EE-ya) is an island nation that is hard to find even for experienced sailors due to the heavy persistent mist which seems to cling to the islands.
Pelagia is a nation which keeps its own counsel. It is ruled by King Corrin and Queen Lavena. Land and titles are handed out so that day to day maintenance of life is maintained, but only King makes actual laws. No one may refute his word until he is dead. Even then, it is only the next king whom can overturn a King’s Law.
Not a lot is known about Pelagia. Pelagia is hard to actually find in spite of its size. Combine this with the xenophobia that is commonly found in many Pelagians and it is not difficult to understand why the sharing of information is so sparse. The same holds true in reverse. Few Pelagians leave their islands. Those are so include either do not return, or are distrusted when they do.
Pelagia has the largest fleet in the known world, but their Navy does not have access to the technological advances some of the other nations have made.
Pelagia has a variety of ancient druidic traditions. Druids can be found anywhere in the known world, but druidic studies are the only magic tradition officially supported by the government. This includes divine magic. Other magic traditions are not outlawed, but they are not widespread.
Lechos (lae-kah-HOES-a) is the seat of power in Pelagia. Lechos is more of a keep with a village around it rather than the typical city most are used to.

In spite of their experience with traversing the waters of Mudar, Palagia does very little trading. Most of the imports are for metal. Exports include high quality wools and other textiles. The exports are rarely the best Pelagia has to offer, but it is what the wealthy there are willing to sacrifice for more metal without having to dig deeper below the island.
