The major celestial bodies are thought to be dragons. The sun, Soldos sometimes “unfurls” its wings. The dragon of death, Vazanti is shrouded in blue clouds and mists with its wings forming rings around it. The other dragons are jealous of Laivos as mother keeps him the closest. Zeraph is the rebel that is moving out of the system. The playful twins, Keides and Tyar chase each other around the sun. Rakia, the Moon of Tyar, is the youngest of this family but there is some friendly rivalry between Rakia and his cousin Rhida, the daughter of Keides.
It is difficult for Spelljammers and other space travelers to find the solar system Tyar is part of. It is on some old maps, but no longer in any of those locations. Soldos’ movements contradict predictive models not just in direction, but also speed of travel. There are some scholars that theorize Soldos might be at the center of a demiplane rather than a regular material plane which would help to explain some of the difficulties in finding this solar system, but not all.
The planet of Tyar cooribits Soldos along with Keides. As one sibling catches up to the other their gravity pulls on each other. The slower one moves closer to the sun, and the faster one moves its orbit further from the sun. This makes the slower one speed up, and the faster one slow down before they actually meet. The planet that just sped up moves away from the planet that just slowed down. The fast planet eventually catches up with the now slower planet, and their orbital path switches back to where it was. This pull is not great enough to alter the rotation of either planet, the direction of orbit, or their hold on their moons, but it does mean there is a measurable cycle where the orbital path of each planet shifts. Some inhabitants of Tyar refer to her longer years as a Time of Hiding and her shorter years as a Time of Seeking.
