The goal of the project was to create an animation with dialogue between two characters. The dialogue had to be a knock knock joke, a dad joke, or something funny that happened between the two characters. The point of the project was to serve as an introduction to coding and to get people familiar with working with programs such as Scratch.
To the right is the animation that I made. My animation was based on a series of bad jokes that I've actually heard people say but they were so bad they wound up being funny.
For our second coding project we were tasked with making google doodles. Google doodles are the temporary designs the google use for their homepage. They make doodles for different holidays or to remember different people's birthdays. For our doodles we had to have at least six different characters. They also had to be personalized. It had to have something about us incorporated. Something like things we were interested in, things we liked to do, or future goals. Also, all of our characters had to be interactive and multimedia. We were given full reign over what we wanted to do. We just had to follow the few instructions given to us and make it creative. We were even given multiple tutorials to make our projects the best we could.
For my google doodle, instead of using "Google" as the letters I decide to put my name instead. I added a crown because my name is Tiara, like a crown, to meet the six-character limit. To make the doodle interactive, when you used your mouse to click onto the letters it brought you to a different scene. One of the scenes was a soccer game and a softball game, but all of them were something that I was personally interested in.
This assignment relates to math because when you are making the animation you have to make it so that all the numbers match up and none of the timing is off because otherwise the animation wouldn't run smoothly. Also coding in general has to do with math. When you are coding you get information that you will need to use different math skills to understand.
This project was very interactive and making the animations were fun. I also liked watching the results of everyone else's animations. They were funny and you could tell that people put a lot of effort into them. Overall, I liked this project. It helped to show the different things you could make out of coding, and you could make without using codes that were hard or difficult to understand.
