As Yelyah Rose stood waiting in her quarters, she could hear the death and destruction as if it was knocking on her door. She knew the end was imminent: they were here for Cypress Hill. She had exhausted all options to save her city, her people, but the inevitable had arrived. The FortySix&Two were the precursors of what was to come. They were looking for those who were responsible for the disruption of a grander plan and when they had learned they escaped, that is what triggered the occupation. There was no more talk or speculation. The coalition of the eastern cities decided that all must join their cause.
Yelyah had learned more of the plot; Aldren had seeked to secure all of the east using the new found tech, have those succumb to its convenience and power. He also procured the employment of Rell Berridge who originally had hailed from Kontra as a soldier turned mercenary. Rell and his team agreed to seek out those who were strong with Essence but to also search for items that were particularly significant in their origin. These items were to grant the user such power that they could even rival the influence of even a vortexergy or even The Soundgarden. Yelyah wondered if Rell could resist such power to simply give it all over to Aldren. Or perhaps Aldren already had most of it and it did not matter what Rell found. These were the questions racing through her mind as the sounds of laser blasts and screams grew louder.
Where was Rygar? Yelyah had hoped he would arrive back soon with help and while she would not hold him responsible for being unable to deliver such an insurmountable task, the consequences would remain devastating. She questioned whether or not he could handle such a task by himself. Perhaps she should have mentioned something, anything, even to the random party that stopped by months ago. Maybe they could’ve helped. The “what ifs’ plagued her heart. But there was no more time for contemplating. The time to hold strong was now and even though all seems hopeless, perhaps there’s a miracle awaiting Cypress Hill around the corner.
