Welcome to my Genesys Character Creation Guide! Here I’ll walk you through step-by-step (day by day….) on how to do all the number stuff of your character, so that you can spend some quality alone time working on that sweet sweet fluff.

What Makes Up A Character?

Here are the major steps you’ll take when creating your character:

1. Pick a Species

2. Pick a Career

3. Spend XP like it’s hot

4. Buy Gear

5. Profit

Genesys offers a very nice fillable PDF character sheet; I recommend though that until we buy this system dinner and get to know it more intimately, we follow this guide THEN fill out that sheet together. This way you can see why you’re entering energy equals mass times the speed of light squared. Throughout this guide, I’ll be using “The Superunknown” campaign for all examples.
