THURSDAY, MARCH 16, 2017 - The St. Joseph Catholic Church website first launched July 1, 2007 under the Microsoft Office Live Small Business platform. Over the years since then, Microsoft moved into its "Microsoft 365 Era" (Now known as Office 365) and Office Live Small Business was one of the products set to be discontinued. The service shut down April 30, 2012, with a 2 month grace period to migrate to a preferred replacement for OLSB.
On June 1, 2012, the website was migrated to Google Sites. A straight forward web service to share information and update seamlessly.
Today, we live in a mobile first world, where websites, apps and other services are prioritized to mobile devices before things such as personal computers. During the Summer of 2016, Google began to focus its product Sites to do just that. Mobile First. In November 2016, Google released its version of the new Google Sites Platform; with a new modern look, design and interface. Throughout 2017, enhancements and upgrades will be made to the new Google Sites Platform which will allow us to upgrade the website to a more modern look. It is expected that the old Google Sites will be shutdown sometime in late 2018 or early 2019, although this timeframe could change.
We are currently in the process of migrating the current website to the new Google Sites. We welcome any feedback. An official announcement will be made when the final migration and shutdown of the old site will be done.
