STC Malvern Brach is back in Business

What a week! Almost felt back to the usual way of life!

On Wednesday and Thursday there were two socially distanced concerts held at Little Malvern Court in aid of Save the Children. The Concerts were sold out as we could only have 30 people in the audience. It was held in a marquee at Little Malvern Court with 2 musicians (playing viola and piano, violin and piano and some duets) who kindly held the concert for STC. The rain held off and despite the chill everyone had a super time with the musicians playing an eclectic range of music to suit all tastes

There were so many more people who wanted to go! All in all it was a super event for Save the Children raising nearly £850 in total.

On Friday members of Save the Children Malvern Branch were again out collecting in the streets of Malvern and Barnards Green and using an ingenious contraption built by John L’Huillier to keep everyone socially separated. It certainly proved an attraction in its own right and led to lots of humorous comment. Well over £200 was raised by the street collection making the grand total for the week over £1100.

Joan Gibson, the Branch Secretary, said, “It’s been such a frustrating 6 months for us; the demand for the good works of Save the Children in Britain and the rest of the world has grown incredibly and at the same time our abilities to collect monies to support it has been nullified. So it’s so exciting to be back in business.

“Thank you to all those who helped in any way with these events, to the public for their generous support and in particular to Sarah Ann Bradford for all her hard work in organising the concerts.

“Watch this space to see our next innovative ideas.”
