Bridge Afternoon at Colwall Village Hall

Inaugural Bridge Afternoon for Save the Children a great success.

Save the Children held a Bridge afternoon in Colwall Village Hall for the first time, There were 13 tables which made 52 players. Barbara Harrison who runs a bridge club in Colwall came along and did the hard work of directing it.

Jill Holland, who organised the event for Save the Children said, “The bridge afternoon was a great success, this is the first time we have done this. I was amazed how many people were keen to play.

“The tea, scones and cakes provided half way through were delicious

“I have to admit to winning the highest score with my partner Greta Dalimore. She is in her 90s so bridge must be good for the brain?! We won the bottles of wine I had taken in as prizes! There were prizes for the next highest score and also for the lowest point count.

“We made £520.00 on ticket sales and the raffle, Christmas cards and a table of decoration made the total up to just over £600.00. We would like the money to go towards the Yemen crisis.”
