Coffee Morning at Barton Court a huge success

The Save the Children Malvern Branch Coffee Morning on 22nd June raised over £1,000 towards the Ukraine Appeal.

The monies raised will go towards refuge centres and schools for the many, many people displaced by the war in Ukraine. At least 12 million people have fled their homes since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the United Nations (UN) says. More than five million have left for neighbouring countries, while seven million people are still thought to be displaced inside Ukraine itself.

Branch volunteers worked hard and were very innovative in providing stalls to keep the many people who attended entertained. Among the stalls there were those selling raffle tickets, books, cakes, plants, “blue and yellow”, handicrafts, bric a brac and STC cards.

Deanne Jones who organised the event on behalf of Save the Children Malvern Branch said, “It was a fabulous morning and the monies raised far exceeded our expectations.

Thanks must go to Linda Camp and her husband for their generosity in providing Barton Court as the venue, to all the Branch volunteers who helped and to everyone who attended or donated monies.”
