THE SOLAR SYSTEM

SOL:

The sun.

MERCURY:

Uninhabited. Extreme heat and cold.

VENUS:

High pressure with sulphuric rain. Proteus Pharmaceuticals is rumoured to have a secret base on the planet.

EARTH:

Centre of the United Worlds. Location of Star-spires. Entirely urbanised.

MOON:

Naval base and asteroid defense station.

Mars - Before and after terra-forming.

MARS:

Phobos, Deimos:

The first planet to be settled and terra-formed. Farming and food production for over populated Earth.

Olympus Mons: Huge volcano near the capital city.

Belatu-Cadros: Capital city of the planet Mars. Location of the first insurgent uprising.

Westerhope: Small mining town settled on the crash site of the colony ship S.S. Westerhope.

ASTEROID BELT:

Hungarias, Floras, Phocaea, Koronis, Eos, Themis, Cybeles, Hildas:

Located in orbit between Mars and Jupiter, the asteroid belt is filled with lumps of rock, iron and ice. These vary in size from dust, up to moon sized bodies. Largely mining operations. Often pirate activity.

JUPITER:

Metis, Adrastea, Amalthea, Thebe, Io, Europa, Ganymede, Callisto, Leda, Himalia, Lysithea, Elara, Ananke, Carme, Pasiphae, Sinope:

Various gas mining operations.

Europa:

Moon of JUPITER. Covered with ice that has a liquid ocean beneath, it is in the process of being terra-formed. The battle of Europa was won by Maximillian Fisher.

SATURN:

C, B, A, F Rings, Pan, Atlas, Prometheus, Pandora, Epimetheus, Janus, Mimas, Enceladus, Tethys, Telesto, Calypso, Dione, Helene, Rhea, Titan, Hyperion, Iapetus, Phoebe:

Seishi: In orbit between Saturn and its rings is the Proteus Pharmaceuticals research laboratory, built on an old gas mining platform.

Tethys / Bedlam:

Located on Saturn’s moon of Tethys, the Bedlam facility is a high security prison and asylum for the criminally insane.

URANUS:

Cordelia, Ophelia, Bianca, Cressida, Desdemona, Juliet, Portia, Rosalind, Belinda, Puck, Miranda, Ariel, Umbriel, Titania, Oberon, Caliban, Sycorax, XVII, XIX, XX:

NEPTUNE:

Naiad, Thalassa, Despina, Galatea, Larissa, Proteus, Triton, Nereid:

Triton: Triton is prone to eruptions of ice geysers. There is a Proteus Pharmaceuticals research laboratory in orbit of Triton.

Pluto

KUIPER BELT:

A region of icy bodies beyond Neptune. The largest are classified as dwarf planets.

Pluto:

Charon:

Haumea:

Makemake: The location for the Papaver Corporation carbon nano-tube factory.

CAIRN:

Small airless planetoid on the outer edge of the solar system, beyond the Kuiper belt. Used as the navy’s main base as it has almost exactly one gee gravity, due to an extremely dense core. A quirk of it's rotation means that a day is twenty-five hours long. Near enough to Earth conditions to make a staging point for trips out of the Solar System.

Mike's Bar: The favourite drinking haunt of many sailors on Cairn. Located at one end of the "Trench Run".

War Room: High Command's war bunker is situated below ground.

OORT CLOUD:

At the far edge of the solar system, a trillion comets.

OTHER STAR SYSTEMS

NB: This is not a complete list of inhabited worlds, merely noteworthy places where major events have occurred.
