Tour Events Booking
In the first instance, agree your event with the Secretary, Alan James.
Gather the following information to convey to Alan:
Proposed Date (Alan will ensure no clashes with others)
Meeting time (allow sufficient time for a breakfast bap or similar, the competition organisation and distribution of scorecards ahead of the first tee time)
First tee time
Half way house (is there one? Any use of the half way house to be at individuals own cost)
Dress code for the meal (most will be "golf attire", some will be jacket and tie)
Buggies (are they allowed and are they available for hire)
Alan will then work with the Treasurer to get your event on the website with an appropriate form.
Attending an Event
To attend an event, go to the relevant event and click on the drop down box under "Name", click on your name and then answer the questions that follow. Once complete, hit the "Submit" button.
If you need to make a change, please contact the Secretary as soon as possible.
As per the financial guidance above, you will need to take £15 in cash to each event to be collected by the Treasurer. £5 for prizes, £5 for staff tip and £5 for the hosting Captain’s charity (benefits all charities as we work through the year)
The hosting Captain will (as tradition demands):
· Provide a small gift (no more than £10 per person (as per the financial guidance) for attendees
· Welcome the Captains and organise the competition and groupings
· Provide prizes (1st, 2nd and 3rd places) up to the value of £5 x the number of those attending (so if you get 20 attending you will have a budget of £100). We suggest you either split this into cash for each place (easy option!) or buy something useful e.g. golf balls or maybe vouchers e.g. Amazon. However, it’s up to you but again, to be fair to all, please do not exceed budget.
· Present the prizes after dinner.
The Treasurer will pass the collected tip money/charity money to the hosting Captain for the staff at his club and to go into his chosen charity. This arrangement will benefit all across the year and provide consistency.
Financing of the Day
There is no charge for golf. The cost of breakfast and dinner will be paid by the Treasurer from club funds however, the exact cost for each Lion will be recorded in your account and you will only be charged for what you have e.g. if you don't attend for breakfast, your account will only be charged for dinner (and any other combination including no charge if you don't attend either dinner or breakfast). The cost of drinks will be evenly split across all those attending and your individual account will show this debit. We politely request that Captains respect this and do not purchase drinks to excess as this will just mean others are subsidising. If you want more than a couple of drinks, please meet any extras from your own pocket on the day.
Therefore, the only Payment you have to worry about on the day is the £15 mentioned above.
