A fantastic day was had by all with the hosting Captain just pipping Peter Hurst into second place. The hosting Captain also managed to take a clean sweep of bets, winning the front, back and the game bringing an extra bonus pound from his playing partners Steve Tremarco and Mark Coulthurst, who had both enjoyed the previously mentioned liquid lunch. It obviously didn’t pay off for Steve Tremarco who managed to hit his drive from the 1st just past the Ladies red blocks.
Bob Hale went one better however, as he started the round in white socks but finished it in darker ones having fallen into the stream on the 7th with his entire golf bag.
Bubba also managed a two on the last having secured his Nearest the pin with a bit of advice from the hosting Captain about his line for the putt. The TaylorMade cap donated by the Club Pro John Fisher matching Bubba’s Salmon shorts.
Alan James then treated the attending Lions to some of his stock of wine during the meal. Several bottles later the pride was down to four, Chris Farley, Bob Hale who still had his now brown socks on and Graham Oaks. The Lions eventually called it a night around 10pm and taxi’s were the order of the day (well...night).
A big thank you to all concerned. It was another amazing day with great company and lots of laughs.
