Collective or herd thrivelling is solely contingent upon unity , collaboration or solidarity. Every large crisis is dominanted by the uncertainty or ambiguity characteristic of and the need for flourishing in flux. It should seem intuitive that solidarity is the answer to fluity of flux.

Numerous European politicians have shared videos online thanking Taiwan for the masks, and expressing support for Taiwan to be properly included in international initiatives.A shipment of 7 million Taiwanese masks arrived in Frankfurt on a China Airlines flight, from where they’ll be delivered all across Europe. The boxes, emblazoned with “Taiwan Can Help,” were shown here in a report on regional German TV.Local media interviewed Taiwan’s representative in Germany, Hsieh Chih-wei. In a Facebook post, he quoted a German elected official who attended the mask reception: “Taiwan is small but great, solitary but independent, and has astonished the world with its response to COVID-19.” The officials expressed gratitude for the donation, and a wish for the WHO and the world to include Taiwan in global initiatives. “Taiwan needs the world, and the world needs Taiwan,” he reportedly said. COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund is a global fund for supporting the work of the World Health Organization in containing the 2019-20 coronavirus pandemic. It was launched on March 13, 2020 by the Director General of WHO in Geneva, Switzerland. The purpose of the response fund is to "support WHO’s work to track and understand the spread of the virus; to ensure patients get the care they need and frontline workers get essential supplies and information; and to accelerate efforts to develop vaccines, tests, and treatments." Major companies, including Facebook, H&M and Google have donated to the Solidarity Response Fund, in addition to several private individuals.

As France endures its third week of lockdown to fight the spread of COVID-19, solidarity is stepping up a gear. From home-made face masks and protective shields, to the distribution of meals to the most vulnerable, initiatives to help others are springing up throughout the country. South Koreans have been coming up with various ways to support those affected by the virus. Foreign residents in the nation are also stepping up to the plate. As blood donations dwindle they've come forward to help out. Kim Bokyung has the full story. This group of around 15 Ethiopians are visiting a blood center in central Seoul. With the number of donors in Korea falling sharply due to the COVID-19 outbreak,... these good-hearted people are helping out by giving their blood. They say they have decided to do this not only to encourage other foreigners to take part, but also because Ethiopia has special ties with South Korea. "In history Koreans and Ethiopians have their own history like suffering the war in 1952. Our grandfathers came here to support Korea so we wanted to continue that legacy to the next generation or this one."

Egypt lit up on Sunday 3 historical sites in the colors of China's flag as a sign of solidarity in combating the novel coronavirus. The lit up sites were Cairo's Saladin Citadel, Luxor's Karnak Temple and Aswan's Philae Temple. They were illuminated in the evening at the same time, indicating a friendly attitude from Egyptians towards the Chinese people. A number of Chinese-speaking Egyptian tour guides gathered near the Saladin citadel and showed their support for China.
