📘 Overview

This unit introduces GhSL vocabulary related to animals, the natural environment, and basic science concepts. These signs help students describe the world around them—from common farm animals to cosmic objects. Learning these signs will strengthen their ability to participate in conversations about nature, farming, climate, science, and everyday surroundings in Ghanaian homes, schools, and communities.

🎯 Learning Outcomes

By the end of this unit, students will be able to

• Recognize and accurately sign common animals (domestic, wild, and farm).

• Use GhSL to describe elements of nature such as the sea, moon, and trees.

• Communicate basic environmental and science-related ideas using signs.

• Express ideas about the earth, sunshine, and the universe in simple conversations.

Exercise: Complete Exercise 19, where students match signs to pictures or descriptions.

Practice: Use a mirror or peer partner to rehearse animal names and nature terms.
