Google Keep: I want to explore how I can use Google Keep more with my students. As 8th graders, it is becoming increasingly important that they learn organizational skills. I think that this could be a great tool for students to keep track of their homework assignments and project progress. I do a lot of group projects with students and a great use of Google Keeps could be creating a checklist for their projects. Each group could share their checklist with their peers and with me so that we could all be informed of how much progress is being made without me having to check each individual project. I could also use Google Keep to tell students which assignments they are missing in class and include a link to the Google Classroom assignment. This is definitely a tool that I want to explore more. In my district, we are able to teach professional development topics to our fellow teachers and I think it would be really great if there was a class offered on Google Keep and maybe I'm the person to teach it if I really like how it works in class!
This project template will help students stay organized while they create their project and clarify the expectations. The theme is in white, yellow, and purple to represent the colors of the Women's Suffrage Movement.
Students are allowed to change the template in anyway they want, as long as all of the information is complete.

Edutopia Video: I chose this video from Edutopia because I have found that my 8th grade students really struggle with executive function. This is completely developmentally appropriate for their age and it effects their education so much more than I think teachers and parents realize. When we have students who we know are capable but are just missing the mark, I think it falls down to the lack of executive function and those skills that they need help building.
