Do Now: Log into the Kahoot with the code being shared on Google Meet (on your screen and shared in the chat) to test your knowledge of the Articles of Confederation.
Did you know that when the Founding Fathers met and created the Constitution, they were not originally supposed to be creating a new government? On our Google Meet, we will watch a TedED video on the Constitutional Convention and then complete the "Think" portion. Be sure to pay attention so your participation in the quiz can be marked down for credit on your performance rubric.
At the 20 minute mark of class, which should be enough time to complete the Kahoot and the TedEd, the winner of the Kahoot will choose a brain break for the class, either a breathing excercise or a stretch break.
When the Founding Fathers were creating the U.S. Constitution to fix the Articles of Confederation, they did not agree on everything. Use the Newsela article on the compromises of the Constitution to help you with the video questions if the information goes too fast for you to follow. You can also rewatch each segment of the video as many times as you need to answer each question.
Close: When you complete the EdPuzzle, use the primary sources posted (below and on Classroom) to answer the question posted on Google Classroom ("Based on the data below, which states do you think would have supported the Virginia Plan and which states do you think would have supported the New Jersey Plan? Based on the data, why do you think there were more slaves in certain states than others? Remember what we learned about the economies of the different regions of the United States.).
