The first individual occurred on 20th June 1889 in Jesmond. The next was trapped at Monks' House in September 1958.
Of the 51 spring arrivals 36 were in May and 15 In June, earliest was 8th May and latest 25th June. Apart from one arriving on 26th July and singles on 4th August 1999 and 2002 the main autumn arrivals start around 9th August to 24th October, with 79 individuals occurring in August, 79 during September and eight in October.
Three records recorded by Kerr, 2015 on Holy Island in 1970, 1980 and 2001 have not been recorded in Birds in Northumbria and are not included.
Records since the graphs ended in 2019 were of one in 2020 and two in 2022 during autumn.
