The first individual for the county of this Eurasian and Siberian breeder occurred on Holy Island on 30th August 1913, another followed two weeks later. Of the 149 individuals there have been 54 spring records with the 3rd May 1972 on the Farnes the earliest and the last spring individual seen on 30th June 1999 at Smeafield.
Of the 95 autumn appearances 14 occurred in August, 72 in September and 9 in October. August 13th is the earliest autumn day with individuals occurring in 1983 (Hauxley) and 2004 on the Farnes. The latest individual was of one on 23rd October at Bamburgh.
There have been 18 males and four females recorded in May with seven of each sex occurring in June.
Since the graphs ended in 2019 there were no records in either 2020 or 2021 but four occurred in 2022 and two in 2023.
