Other Trust Contributions
The list of Trust Contributions is long, but here are a couple of other things that The Trust has done.
Dr. John G. Egnatoff
We decided some time ago that we wanted to do things in the community for things that were an important part of Quinn's life. Quinn attended Grade 1-8 at Dr. John G. Egnatoff School. During this time Quinn developed friendships that remained in to high school, and developed relationship with many of the teachers at Egnatoff; Sheppie (Curtis Shepherd) and the Spitting Cobras, Mrs. Wilson, Mr. Gulutzan, etc. As a way to keep memories of Quinn alive at Egnatoff, The Quinn Stevenson Memorial Athletic and Spirit Trust donated funds to buy a new smart board that will be mounted in the computer lab. The smart board will include a plaque. In the gym, a sign was purchased (painted on the wall). The sign has a quote that captures Quinn's life.
Centennial Collegiate
A Memorial Bench
For some time, Tom Sergeant principal at Centennial Collegiate has indicated that the school was going to do something to honor the memory of Quinn. A decision was made recently and Bonny is currently getting designs for a metal bench that is going to put a on the grounds outside one of the main doors. The bench will have the following design cut into the back.
3D printer
The Quinn Stevenson Memorial Athletic and Spirit Trust donated funds to buy a 3D printer at Centennial Collegiate. Centennial was very important to Quinn and our family, and Quinn enjoyed his Industrial Arts classes. It seemed most fitting that the Trust in his name give back to Centennial. It is absolutely so cool what it can do. See video below of the printer making a chain. Grant Ryde, the teacher at Centennial that gave us the idea for the printer, indicated that the drafting students will now be able to actually see how their 3D drafting projects really look. We hope that many Centennial students will get to benefit from this great technology.
