Government Palace

Sitting on the highest peak lies a large temple known by Kokubu's community as the Government Palace, a place where the community can all gather together to enjoy the sights, complete rituals and enjoy each other's presence.

The Palace Grounds

The Government Palace is a location almost as hard to reach as the settlement of Kokubu itself, sitting at the highest peak of the tallest mountain it features a long flight of stairs up towards the door. Sitting by the entrance of the government palace is a petrified statue of a dragon coated in esmeen acolite, a glittery purple-red gemstone. Those who complete their first journey up the stairs are free to take a piece.

The grounds has always been mainly used as a gathering place for those of Kokubu. Whenever natural 0r enemy threat comes about, everyone makes the journey up here, believing it holds a spiritual protection over its people. So far, it has never failed them.

Tourism is popular for this site alone, and while Kokubu has more beautiful sites than almost anywhere in the world, it's the sight of the entire valley from the palace's balcony which really sells the beauty of this region. Some say on a perfectly clear day you can even see the heart of the psychedelic district from its many balconies.

History

Despite looking like a historically ancient site, the palace is only about 60 years old. The architects of this palace are entirely unknown which is why so many regular inhabitants of Kokubu believe it to be of spiritual gifting origin or a gift from the gods for their successful, peaceful lifestyle; even though there are no signs that suggest this.

Throughout its history the palace has been a place of gathering for the community. Once a month the most influential individuals of the community gather together- although this gathering isn't exclusively to them, to discuss plans of action for the settlement and the people.

Many believe that being an entirely community led settlement with no overarching leader would negatively impact the settlement, but with the use of this temple as well as their own negotiating ability, things go smoothly.
