Yet another of the three legendary voids and the most welcoming of them all is the Void between Space and Time, also commonly referred to as the void of spacetime, where individuals can go to live out their best fantasies without struggling against the limits of reality.
The void between space and time is likely the most unusual of the three voids, a space which tethers itself to whoever is seeing its insides. There is no specific definition for what the inside of this void looks like, as it's individual to everyone who enters.
The void is said to change its appearance based on the persons greatest desires, and make a luxurious haven based off of them that only they can see and interact with. The only known space within this void that can be universally seen by everyone who wishes to go there is the Hallway of Doors, a giant train station filled with doorways to different locations in the overworld, different dimensions and alternate universes, and is heavily controlled and guarded by void sentinels.
The void can be accessed in numerous different ways. The most common way people find themselves within the void is through the Ethereal Oasis, the world's largest natural site of spacetime rift activity. Those who have an affinity for creating void rifts, such as select voidie species, or licensed void magic users, can also make rifts by quite literally tearing into the fabric of reality.
With a simple spark of void rift energy between two sharp pieces of silver, a slice can be created through the air in front of an individual, slicing open a gateway into the chosen void. Doing this creates the sound of fabric tearing, hence why it is named as such.
Although widely accepted as a friendly and non-chaotic location, individuals are still requested that they approach and enter the void with care. At the end of the day, it is still a void and can contain evils different to the others. The most common of these evils is damaging mental influence, which you can read more about below.
The hallway of doors is the most common, and only public, mode of transport with the use of rifts and voids. This hallway can direct people not only to other areas in the overworld, but other dimensions, universes and timelines. Unfortunately, this comes at a cost.
While no license is required to travel through the hallway, with no fees accompanying it, individuals beneath the age of 18 must always be accompanied by either one of the void sentinels, or someone of age, if they have not got a professional notice of allowance.
For the protection of all worlds respectively, each section of the hallway is protected by a universal customs, similar to what can be found in airports. If an item isn't listed below, it isn't allowed through without throrough inspection. You must also declare an item if it typically goes against expectations:
Any form of food which isn't: Dairy, Pickled, Nuts, Rice or anything which may carry food based diseases
Coffee
Duty free items (Alcohol, tobacco, general goods)
Prescription medication, where declared
Certain magical weapons where declared
Non magical weapons
The universal customs is operated by void sentinels, spirit like beings which are composed entirely of void energy. If you're unsure of whether you can bring something in, you can direct your attention to them and they will inform you.
The Hallway features three different layers to it: Overworld (which features no customs), dimensional (which has minor customs) and universal (featuring both timelines and heavy customs). Invididuals can get to these sections by taking the hard light hexa-pads located around the hallway.
Any luxuries found within this void can't be removed from the void, and cannot be seen 'nor touched by another person, which is just one of many drawbacks this void can have on people. People who may not understand how the void works may find themselves going insane in the void from the desire to keep the luxuries for themselves, only to find they can't share them with anyone or take them out of the void.
Those who do understand that what's in the void stays in the void only accessible to them can live within the void harmoniously. Time in the void and outside of the void flows differently. When inside of the void, you'll come out and find next to no time in the real world has passed. The void can be used as a healing salve, where you can go and rest, heal up, eat and drink and whatever else you need to do before returning to the real world, though this feature also means that if you use it in the middle of combat, when you come back out you'll still be locked in combat, and cannot be used as a means of permanent escape.
Consumables created by the void can be eaten or drank and do give the same effects and sustenance as they would if they were from the overworld, though these effects disappear the moment you leave - and again, any physical changes are visible only to you. For example, someone could think up some liquid sun and drink it to change species - but only they would be able to see their different species self, and when they leave the void, they would be back to their normal self.
