The most legendary of the three voids, the time void is home to the creator of time, Tysorion, as well as the doomsday clock and numerous other ancient landmarks revolving entirely around the flow of time, and those who follow it.
The Time Void is a large void of unusually empty space, which, as its name suggests, is the centre of all flowing time in the multiverse. Gravity is unusual here, with many different biomes such as: Dark, empty void, reverse gravity void and mercury plains.
In the 'middle' of the void, and above the city of Darkrota, crystal rain falls into this reverse gravity of the void, and flows upwards at a constant rate. A certain point, just below the 'top layer' of the time void, it disappears. The top layer of the void is a completely black, empty space, where only a giant cog - known as the doomsday clock, remains. Tysorion, the time deity, spends most of his time here with the guardian of time - a small wizard gecko familiar, protecting time and ensuring a mass extinction event doesn't occur to soon - or that time itself doesn't immediately break.
On the very bottom layer of the Time Void lies the city of Darkrota, a large, unusual city where people can find residence within the Time Void. This city holds two layers to it, with half of the city being in the reverse gravity section of the void, and sits in the sky of the city which is grounded on the mercury plains. This city functions the same way as any other city, but functions beneath the ruling of Tysorion and the Time guardian, rather than a leading figure.
Those who live here are recommended to have a high resistance to strong levels of magical energy. The time energy which radiates from the void into the city can often be overpowering, but with enough training can be easily overcome. Species with a natural magical affinity will be completely fine, while mortals may require protective spells and potions.
The doomsday clock is the most renowned part of the Time Void, the place where Tysorion is most commonly listed in his legends and manuscripts to spend his time ensuring an extinction or mass destruction event does not occur out of the expected timeline. It's here that he can monitor when events are going to happen in the timeline of the universe, such as: when people are going to die and how, what destruction events are going to occur and when and even the most minute details. It's a lot for one man to monitor, but he's been doing it for longer than he can remember.
The doomsday clock itself is a giant cog located at the top layer of the void floating in the abyss, with seemingly nothing surrounding it and no where to go. It resides at the highest point of the void, meaning if you fall off the edge, it's a long way down. Accessing this cog is typically done through invitation by Tysorion himself. The cog constantly rotates, one tick a day, representing that a day has passed closer to the next doomsday.
The next naturally occurring doomsday, or mass extinction event, isn't predicted to occur for another billion years.
More commonly referred to as the time furnace, The Forge is situated in the far outback of the mercury plains. Surrounded by nothing but flatlands of the silvery substance, along with upards flowing rain, this forge is a dragonfire forge- a type of forge which, as its name suggests, is powered by dragonfire. The dragon which keeps this forge powered is known to locals as the Time dragon, a huge female dragon with scales made of pure sapphire constantly breathing flames coated with time energy into the furnace.
This furnace is said to help keep time flowing. The dragon, and the furnace, is merely an undiscovered place, a written legend and nothing more; a story passed around to the children of Darkrota. They say that terrible things will happen to time should the dragon stop breathing its flames into the furnace: The spread of time corruption, the halting of time altogether and the redaction of life and reality as it's known.
''The dragon was put in place by Tysorion, you see. He was lost. He had so much power, so much progress he could make, but if he turned his attention away from allowing time to flow he would be frozen, lost to the void, incapable of doing great things with his power. This angered the man, and thus he had the beast created to willfully do his bidding in return for his protection, and for reality as it is now known. Millions, maybe billions of years later, the dragon remains with the forge in a place so obscure that not even the best of plains walkers have discovered it yet. Only time will tell if the dragon can be uncovered.'' - Chapter 23 of the Deity Chronicles, authored by Lutherius Akara.
