Teleportation

Teleporting is an extremely dangerous art, one once thought to be impossible because of the limitations of physics. As it turns out, physics can be bent around to make teleportation entirely possible without breaking space itself - it's just dangerous to organic matter.

Raw Teleportation

Raw teleportation in itself is an impossible feat for people to complete without the use of a potion. Attempting to teleport yourself without any assisting equipment to another location in an instant will simply crush your body, or tear it apart in places you didn't even know you could be torn.

The movement of teleportation is so fast that it simply kills you in an instant. Luckily, it's impossible to even try and do it without the assistance of tools.

Portals

Portals are the safest and most common form of teleportation based locomotion. Requiring a frame and a magical power source, portals create a direct hallway between two areas in space and simply shorten it down. This is called a mirror gateway, a hallway which appears to the human eye to look like a mirror, and can be passed through instantly.

In space, the hallway between two portals is invisible, but can always be sensed by energy signatures. This is why travelling through portals can always be tracked, and escape through portals- especially if you're being chased by another individual with intent to harm you, will not always save you.

Sometimes, natural mirror gateways form. These are highly unstable and normally will change the location you come out of, even if the location it displays appears to be different.

All portals have a form of 'discharge' and colour based on the location they're connected to. For example, a portal connected to The Peat will have a blacky green colour, with vines growing around its edges, and mud and swamp water leaking out from the bottom. All portals follow this theme, whether they show the other side or not.

Wormholes and Rifts

Wormholes and Rifts are the primary method of void based locomotion, but are also both illegal to use without a specialised license. These are highly unstable methods of transportation which require quite literally tearing through the fabric of reality to make an opening, something which should never be done by untrained hands.

Separately to Portals, Rifts and Wormholes do not have to be hooked up to another gateway or access point to function. They can be opened anywhere, and their opposing end can also open anywhere. Typically the opposite end will open in an open area, as well- a rift opening underground wouldn't be helpful for anyone.

Rifts and Wormholes feature the same colour and discharge logic as Portals.
