You can also use automatic updates to download and install the most recent updates as they become available.

Automated update

This method is true to its name. This will allow QuickBooks to automatically check the intuit server for updates. It will also download updates even if you're not connected to the internet.

• Click on Update QuickBooks from the Help Menu to get started

• Click on the Options tab in the Update QuickBooks window.

Select the option that you want to use. Click on "Yes" to enable

• Select the update that you wish to receive, and then remove any updates from the update section you do not want to update.

• You might not receive any notification, even if an update is available on the intuit servers. You might get a message asking you if you'd like to use the update services.

• Last but not least, click on Save and hit Close

On demand update method

Under this method, you can download the update from the Intuit server immediately on the system. It doesn’t matter that the software is running in the system or close. You can also make use of this option at any time and immediately download the updates even if Automatic update is enabled in the software.

Steps to check for and install update

•          Start off with heading to the help men and click on update QuickBooks

•          Click on update now tab

•          Select the updates you need to download and click on get updates. Check what is included in the update from the updates column. Click on the maintenance releases link. You can see a page is displayed that have listed the changes/improvements in the update

•          Close your QuickBooks. When you will restart your software, it will prompt you to install the update now or later. It completely depends on the version you have. Click on install now or yes to install the update. End the process by rebooting the system.
