General
1. Translation must be based on BRAZILIAN PORTUGUESE grammar, syntax, and vocabulary. DO NOT use European Portuguese sentence structures, expressions, and spelling.
2. Games are designed and written in CHINESE, and therefore CHINESE will always be the ultimate source.
3. If your source is English, it is most likely a translation from the original Chinese. So it may contain some remnants of Chinese grammar, syntax, and logic. You are ENCOURAGED and EXPECTED to adapt those, and translate it as the sentences were originally written in Brazilian Portuguese.
4. Mobile games have very little screen space and text size allocation is often very small. EVERY character matters!
A general rule of thumb for the desired translation quality: Grammatically correct is NOT ENOUGH. If you must read a sentence more than once to understand it, then it is not a successful translation. Even if the source text is unclear in certain places, it is our role to make it accessible for Brazilian players upon first viewing. At the same time, take care not to overlocalize. Language must be adequate to the game's genre, emotional tone and setting.
Be warned the game developers may have specific instructions for their game. If these intructions conflict with the ones established in this styleguide, communicate with the PM so we unify the instructions, or establish exceptions.

• Concision — Straight to the point, clutterless writing.
PRACTICAL TIPS
• Identify the key message of the string and convey it.
• Choose your words with rigor and thoughtfulness.
• Aim for simplicity. But be creative when needed.
• Always prefer direct order.
• Avoid using unnecessary loanwords (estrangeirismos).
• Translate and proofread like your version is the final. If there are too many mistakes, the penalties agreed on the contract may be triggered.
• When in doubt, raise a query to our project managers (PMs).

Grammar must follow the Portuguese Language Orthographic Agreement of 1990 (Acordo Ortográfico da Língua Portuguesa de 1990) and the standard language (norma culta padrão).
