Today I am starting get things done by creating a plan in attempts to get the machine in motion. As I have already stated, I have most of the parts to get the machine moving, I just haven't done anything to make it do so. I think this should be the first step in the motion process.
I took the motor controller off of the power chair frame because I didn't like how the wires were routed. Unfortunately, I got side tracked with stuff, so it never got put back on. The first obvious part of the plan should be reinstall the motor controller and encoders. The next step will be to place the power chair on blocks upside down, so the wheels are free floating. Third, I will try to set up ROS and get a catkin work space created and place the drivers in there. Fourth, setup the drivers as previously discussed in the motor controller section. Last, I hope I can connect the computer to the motor controller and publish a movement to /cmd_vel and the motor(s) should rotate.
TLDR TODO list :
I think by breaking down the process into underwhelming parts, I will be able to do this by the end of the week.
