Building Part 1

I started building the machine to look like the prototype design. Here is what I have done so far.

I found a nice warped piece of plywood and thought that it may work as a top shelf. I bought some threaded inserts from Home Depot along with some bolts, 4" pipe, and a 4" closet flange. Here I found the center of the plywood, marked and drilled the holes and hammered in the inserts.

I installed the flange.

Placed pipe on flange to feed the "gotta see progress" part of my brain.\

Marked where the rails were, drilled holes and mounted the top shelf to the platform.

Here is what I have so far.

I think the top area will give me enough room for two deep cycle batteries. I can then use the original battery holder to house the computer. The pvc pipe has to be long enough to keep the IMU away from the motors in order to reduce interference.

Too much cutting, thinking, and sweating -- and my yard still needs to get mowed.
