I purchased the 360 degrees mirror-lens system a while ago. Its original purpose was supposed to be a low cost led lantern. The lantern does not seem to be easily found through traditional google techniques. I know what you are asking in your head: Why is this important? There needs to be a cheap way to produce a 360 camera, or few people would be able to build one of these robots or omnidirectional vision system.
It is important that there are easily accessible sources of mirrors for others to try this out. This hopefully will bring others into building these and create improvements on my simple design.
These are the lanterns/flashlights that may work as an alternative or a future replacement on future designs.
There may also various ways of mixing and matching parts in order to build a better lens system. One example may be to purchase an open-ended candle vase (chimney, glass hurricane vase, lantern globe...) and a conical mirror, polished dome end-caps, mirror screw caps, polished bottom inside soda can, Christmas orbs, tow ball cover, hubcap dome, bell flange, recess flange, back side of a shower head, or parts from the previously listed lamps.
