The second quarter of the Library and Information Technology program served as a continuation and more in-depth look into the world of libraries. Focusing on aspects such as information retrieval, historical knowledge, and customer service considerations, the second term played a huge role in defining the concept of what a library is and could be and how many roles library staff may be asked to take on.
Learning how important it is that staff are properly trained and knowledgeable on different topics to better assist and support their patrons was also another impact of this term. By understanding the history of the Western world, the impact of design, and the ways that information is retrieved and professionally passed along, it makes the gears in the cog of the machine work efficiently and effectively.
