TRACKERS MISSION FUNDRAISING

Organised by TRAC, Trackers is a 3-month discipleship programme for young people between the ages of 17 and 25 designed to them to the richness of the Christian faith. They will learn to sit at the feet of Jesus through daily devotions and the lecture phase, bless others through both overseas and local missions, and be challenged to live a life wholly surrendered to Jesus.

PLMC has sent 9 youths to participate in the Trackers programme this year.

Our Trackers are seeking to raise funds for the mission trips where 4 different groups of youth go to Cebu, Laguna, Nepal and Siem Reap to do the work God has sent them to do, trusting that God will provide for this journey that He is calling them on.

Do go down to the Trackers booth at the Fellowship Hall to learn more about what they are doing and to meet the teams that are going to Cebu and Siem Reap. Also please give generously to support their mission journey by scanning the QR code.

THE CHRISTIAN CALENDAR - EPIPHANY

Have you ever wondered why the pulpit cloth changes colours and has different symbols on it each time it is changed? Do the words “Advent”, “Epiphany” and “Kingdomtide” mean anything to you?

The Liturgical or Church Year is broken into seasons, starting from Advent and ending with Kingdomtide. It is a traditional way to remember and observe the various aspects of the life of Christ and His Church that has been used since the early days of Christianity. Each season has its own colour and symbols that serve as visual mnemonics.

The season of Epiphany in the Church Calendar follows after Christmastide. Epiphany, meaning “revelation” or “manifested”, refers to the revelation of the Christ to the Gentiles as symbolised by the Magi, and, therefore, to all the peoples of the Earth. Epiphany focuses on Jesus’ early life, His baptism, and the wedding feast at Cana. The themes are on renewal and missions. The season’s colour is green, the symbol of growth, spring and new life. Epiphany is from 6 January to Shrove Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of Lent.
