Young Adults Ministry

YOUNG ADULTS MINISTRY

The Young Adult Ministry was formed in 2016, with the intention of integrating our young adults into the wider church by forging a community that would do life together. Even as the ministry seeks to minister to the YAs in PLMC, our objective is also for each YA to be meaningfully engaged in the life of the church, and participate in the wider church community to further the work of the kingdom.

YAs live a life in transition, and encounter many leaps in life stages between the ages of 19 to 35. To this end, the ministry has been helping YAs to find an anchor by building deep roots in the community, and integrating them into cell groups where they can receive care and support. Cell groups also function as a supportive environment where iron sharpens iron, and YAs grow in knowledge of the Word and in Spirit. Our hope is that even as our community grows in Christ-likeness, that we also seek to spur each other to impact the wider community by giving of our time, energy and resources.

Over the years, the YA Ministry has hosted a series of events and activities including retreats, talks, bonding and outreach activities. Even amid the pandemic, the ministry continues to find new ways of doing things. This has taken the form of webinars where YAs hear from and interact with the church pastors, equipping workshops for cell leaders and other young adults, and bonding activities in smaller groups.

Through the various of seasons of life, the purpose of the YA Ministry is best encapsulated in our vision, “A community of young adults, centered on Christ, connected to the times, impacting the world.”
