Prior to starting my modification of Mamod SL engines, I did some restorations and modification of Mamod, Stuart and Wilesco stationary engines and Mamod mobiles.
During that time, I collected up numerous spare parts from different sources. Eventually I ended up with enough pieces to do something with them. The creation featured here (a Mamesco called 'BITSA') is mainly Mamod parts with some Wilesco bits thrown in for good measure. The fire box is a simple scratch build from metal sheet and the base and engine 'frame' are made with wooden off-cuts I had available at the time.
