I set about building this 0-4-2 conversion at the same time as building another 0-6-0 engine (#07). The PJLW bodywork is similar on both engines, with this engine built as a half cab tender loco. Numerous ideas were tried for the trailing bogie. I ended up on a design 'borrowed' from Roundhouse. I adapted the leading bogie from the Leek & Manifold 2-6-4 tank locomotive to work as the trailing bogie in my own design of engine frames. This loco also makes use of a Western Steam Ltd manufactured high pressure boiler as per the RWM 'Janet' design. The tender is of the type sold by IP Engineering for the 'Jane' engine with some restyling to match my engine. This was the first model where I used my own design of buffer beam overlays with a riveted finish. I dressed the loco tank tops up with a coal basket from RWM and tools from Locoworks.
The 0-4-2 configuration can be seen here. I used a Mamod rolling stock wheel set and pressed in some of my spoked wheel inserts.
