MSR didn't just do trains! They made a rather wonderful steam roller and designed their own parts including frames, body, front wheel support, seat arrangement and engine control arm. MSR also utilised numerous other components sourced from Wilesco. The MSR American Steam Roller used a Wilesco boiler, engine and wheels and some other smaller fittings. The Wilesco vertical boiler is from the D305 but supplied in black rather than plain brass. The engine unit is taken from the D48 marine engine and the roller uses customised Wilesco wheels (these were cut with very wide aluminium tires for MSR to use as a custom part). The drivers seat is also a D305 modified part as used on the Wilesco Fire Engine model. The model pictured was recreated using original MSR parts.
