Dealing with Rejection

Sooner or later in the life of an ATC artist, it will happen.

You find the courage to ask for someone's card...

And they say no.

Back in 2021, there was an artist who made really wonderful Halloween cards. I thought my Halloween cards were pretty good, so I requested a trade and offered about a dozen choices.

None were good enough.

I felt very sad.

And that day, I could not get the rejection out of my mind.

So I wrote a book...

Actually, I made a "zine."

I posted it on Facebook and on Instagram.

I have posted this booklet several times.

On October 7, 2025 I am adding the booklet to my web page.

If you want a copy...

I will EVENTUALLY make a PDF.

The original PDF just included TEXT. I hand-drew the illustrations each time I sent someone a hard copy of the booklet.

I made the original in 2021.

I now have the application Procreate on my iPad, so I can make a better PDF now. But it takes time.

Today the subject of dealing with rejection came up on "Emily's board." I decided it would be easier to just put this booklet on my website.
