TMAS 12 The Rebuilding of the World

Suddenly, I saw the whole picture.

There’s less on it, but it’s all a bit more metaphorical!

The black frame represents the more limited world: (for now) life is only possible between the Tropics. The red equator is a bit of a metaphor for the ring of fire (although it runs differently). I've retained the shape of the continents as we know them (although I’ve made them blurry, as they might not be visible through the ice) to make it clear to anyone who hasn’t read the book that we’re... huh... still dealing with our good old planet. The white, of course, represents the snow-covered parts of the planet. We see the men who have gone to dig up books in Megalissipo. For now, only the books bring some real color to the frozen/solidified world.

No reference to Europa, Ganymede, or Mars. I think the last quarter of that book gives a clear hint of what you’ll be able to dig up yourselves in the future.

MAS 12 De Heropbouw van de Wereld

Plots zag ik het beeld helemaal voor mij.

Er staat minder op, maar het is wel allemaal iets meer metaforisch! 

Het zwarte kader staat voor de ‘begrensder’ wereld: (voorlopig) is er enkel leven mogelijk tussen de keerkringen. De rode evenaar, is een beetje de metafoor voor de vuurring (alhoewel die anders loopt) Ik heb de vorm van de continenten zoals wij die kennen wel behouden (wel wazig gemaakt, want door het ijs wellicht niet te zien) om het voor iemand die het boek niet gelezen heeft duidelijk te maken dat we … huh… nog steeds te maken hebben met onze goede oude planeet. Het wit staat natuurlijk voor de door sneeuw bedolven delen van de planeet. We zien de mannen die boeken zijn gaan opdelven in Megalissipo.

Voorlopig brengen enkel de boeken wat echte kleur in de bevroren/gestolde wereld. 

Geen verwijzing naar Europa, Ganymedes of Mars. Ik vind het laatste kwart van dat boek een duidelijke hint geven van wat jullie in de toekomst zelf verder mogen uitdelven.

De repente, vi o quadro completo.

Há menos imagens, mas tudo é um pouco mais metafórico!

A moldura preta representa o mundo mais limitado: (por enquanto) a vida só é possível entre os trópicos. O equador vermelho é uma metáfora para o Círculo de Fogo (embora orientado de forma diferente). Mantive o formato dos continentes tal como os conhecemos (desfoquei-os, uma vez que podem não ser visíveis através do gelo) para deixar claro a quem não leu o livro que estamos... hum... ainda a lidar com o nosso bom e velho planeta. O branco, claro, representa as partes cobertas de neve do planeta. Vemos os homens que foram desenterrar livros em Megalissipo. Por enquanto, apenas os livros trazem alguma cor real ao mundo congelado/solidificado.

Sem referência a Europa, Ganímedes ou Marte. Penso que o último quarto desse livro dá uma clara pista do que vocês próprios poderão desenterrar no futuro.
