Elective Courses
After completing all other graduation requirements, elective courses are required to get the student to the 120-credit requirement for the bachelor's degree.
Elective courses are not a program requirement for the 2024 catalog. If students have completed all other graduation requirements but have not met the required upper division credit requirement (30 upper division credits with 15 in residency credit hours), they will need to use elective courses to fill the requirement.
Students may also have elective courses due to transfer credits that do not fulfill a graduation requirement.
The Bachelor's Degree in Professional Studies on the 2019 to 2023 catalog years requires 120 credits.
Any combination of 3 certificates can be used as long as the prerequisites are met.
A prerequisite is a requirement (a course or a certificate) that must be completed before another requirement.
Upper-Division Courses are courses that begin with a code of 300 or higher.
There are 4 cornerstone religion courses required for all bachelor degrees: REL200, REL225, REL250, and REL275.
After completing all certificate and degree requirements, students will take elective credits to complete the remaining credits needed to reach 120.

Associate Degree: 60 credits
Religion: 14 credits overall
8 credits must be from cornerstone religion courses, no exceptions.

Internship Requirement
There is no internship requirement for Professional Studies on the 2019 and 2020 catalog years.
For the 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 catalog years, the internship requirement should be fulfilled by taking the course GS497: Professional Projects.
Prior to term 1 of Winter 2025, the requirement could also be filled with IDS398R: Interdisciplinary Internship
The Bachelor's Degree in Professional Studies on the 2024-2026 catalog includes about 90-105 credits depending on the combination of certificates the student chooses.
Unlike other catalog years, students must choose their C1 and C2 from a list of Tier 1 certificates, and their C3 from a list of Tier 2 certificates.
At least one Tier 1 certificate must meet the prerequisite for the desired Tier 2 certificate.
Total credits: 90-105
This total will fluctuate depending on the declared certificates.
Religion: 14 credits overall
