BYU-Pathway policy is that students need to finish their first certificate first. However, if they are about to finish their first certificate, they can add AG classes and religion classes.
After confirming that students are finishing their first certificate, and If the degree planner won’t let you move, create a ticket. Refer to ADV - Moving Courses
Most of the time, students who have already registered for a course can not move a course.
Click “Edit schedule”
Select “Registration area”
Click “Add course”
Check if you can add some courses or not.
If not, check if students are eligible to take a course (Prerequisites)
Note: If students are about to finish their first certificates, they are eligible to take C2 classes and AG courses. (GS 170 is designed to be taken at the end of the certificate)
After you make sure they are eligible to move a course and register for the semester, you will make a ticket and send it to the DP-Ticket Queue.
Refer to ADV - Retakes & Repeatable Courses first
If you still struggle,
For POWL, check the grade, and if they are not reaching a minimum grade, send a ticket requesting to add a course to the DP.
Note: The minimum grade requirement for Foundation/General Education and religion courses is a D-. The minimum grade requirement for major and certificate courses is a C-.
For ECOL, check the grade, and message your shift lead. They will ask the Ensign Team to add a course to the students’ system.
Note: The minimum grade requirements for degree and/or certificate requirements is a C, unless otherwise noted in the specific program requirements.

Ensign Collee has the sequence (order) for each degree. Whatever the system shows up are the right courses to take.
If there are some issues with it, we need to know how many credits they want to register for (we can not ask the Ensign team to add specific courses unless it is not a retake course)
For PWOL, most of the time, their transcripts get stuck in the system that BYU-Idaho and Provo share.
Call the Transfer Evaluation Office (208) 496-1020
Ask them if they have their transcripts on the system
Note: Don’t give the phone number to students
For ECOL, if they are doing a degree through Ensign College, Call the registration office to see if they have transcripts. 801-524-8140
For most cases, NO. If they can change an internship course to a project class, they need to do that. If you have complicated situations, talk to your shift lead.
For PWOL, students can see if there are block courses when they try registering on their degree planners. (Advisors can impersonate the degree planner and see availbalitiy as well)
Another way to check is Advance Course Reseach on BYUI advisor tab
1. Log into your BYUi advisor tab
2. Look up a student
3. Click Advance Course Reseach
4. See courses that ONLINE
For ECOL, whatever the Portal gives them is their course.
Usually, students can take only one religion class at a time. However, they can add another religion course if they wait until the first day of school to register. If the course is full on the first day of the semester, they can not register, but if not, they can.
We tell students this information only if they need more credits for financial aid or graduation.
It takes some time for Canvas to be updated. You need to let them know that they need to wait for a little bit.
Check if they successfully dropped courses on the degree, planner, degree audit, or the student portal(ECOL).
After you confirm it, you can send an email to students that they have dropped courses successfully, but it takes time to be updated on Canvas.
You will need to check the associate degree requirements (60 credits) on the student’s degree audit.
General Education Requirements (minimum grade: D-)
Religion Credits (8)
Math Credits (3)
English Credits (6)

Internship or project courses (for Business and Communication degrees)
Check what is wrong with the degree audit and find out if the degree audit is messed up or the degree planner.
If the DA is wrong,
Contact the Graduation Office for PWOL. (208-496-1027)
and the registration office for ECOL. (801-524-8140)
If the DP is wrong,
Send a ticket to the DP team.
