Communities are very rarely defined by political boundaries; nevertheless, the actual intersection of Oakwood and Vaughan falls within Ward 8 (Eglinton-Lawrence, Toronto District School Board), Ward 15 (Eglinton-Lawrence, City of Toronto), and both the provincial and federal ridings of St. Paul's. Most of the rest of the roughly defined Oakwood-Vaughan region is located within municipal Wards 17 (Davenport) and 21 (St. Paul's) and TDSB Wards 9 (Davenport) and 11 (St. Paul's). Those living in the Oakwood-Vaughan region may also fall under the provincial and federal Davenport ridings.
