Reports

Over the past year, OV NAP has been focused on advocating for the now-closed site of Vaughan Road Academy (VRA) to be maintained as a public asset. After a community visioning session on November 9, 2016, we wrote a report that presented our findings from community members that the site should be kept for the community, and were able to successfully lobby the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) to keep the site as a 'core holding' (public asset).

We have continued to work with community members, elected officials and institutions, such as the TDSB, to advance the community vision of using the VRA site to build a community hub.

On this page and its related sub-pages, you will find our OV NAP community meeting reports, as well as reports from other agencies and institutions, that have informed our advocacy efforts.

OV NAP has been involved, often in collaboration with organizations like METRAC, with a number of local community safety initiatives, and has monitored issues (such as those involving Toronto Police Services) relevant to community safety as well. Items relating "community safety," as roughly outlined above, are found in the sub-section below.

Other reports, relating to the Oakwood-Vaughan area and either published by OV NAP or other organizations relevant to the community, are found in the "Oakwood-Vaughan Related Reports" sub-section; many of these items are also available in the relevant "archive" sections elsewhere on this website. This sub-section also contains brief descriptions of the included reports.
