The Oakwood-Vaughan region currently possesses one "community garden," located at the intersection of Oakwood and Belvedere, just north of Vaughan Road. Here, during the spring and summer, interested community members collaborate in the maintenance of a small plot of greenery. Other proposals for community gardens exist as well, including at the Vaughan Road Academy site, and, to see to the implementation of some of these proposals, OV NAP has created a Community Gardening sub-committee open to all interested persons in the area.
Similarly, the Vaughan Road Academy site might host a weekly farmers' market, where locally-sourced products would be sold to those in the community. Such a farmers' market would be the first in the community since autumn, 2015, when a small group of vendors set-up shop every Friday at what was then a parking lot on Eglinton, near Oakwood.
