"Deputing," ungainly verb though it may be, is one of the few ways an individual, on behalf of herself or as a representative of a greater body, may present an argument directly before a collection of elected representatives and professional civil servants. Opportunities to depute are frequent, although often difficult to discover if one is not already familiar with the operational procedures (not to mention schedules) of different government bodies.
This section contains written versions of oral deputations given by members of OV NAP on the subject of community hubs. While oral presentations have the advantage of ensuring elected officials actually listen to one's presentation, most government bodies allow for written deputations to be submitted as well, on the promise that they will be distributed among "all those concerned" before the meeting at which oral deputations are to take place. OV NAP welcomes those who have made deputations - orally or in writing - to submit them to its archive for preservation and public presentation.
