Toronto District School Board

The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) operates the secular, English-language public education system in Toronto. The TDSB is also involved, through its subsidiary, the Toronto Lands Corporation, in property management, owning not only those buildings in which it houses primary and secondary schools, but other properties - school buildings, as well as undeveloped land - presently leased out to either private schools or the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB), or, nominally, unoccupied, as in the case of Vaughan Road Academy (VRA). Indeed, many of the items in this sub-section relate to the process by which Vaughan Road Academy was closed, and the subsequent decision to retain the building as a "core holding" - that is, as property that cannot, for one year at minimum, be sold. The remaining documents suggest, according to the TDSB, possible uses for the now-"empty" VRA building, or relate the TDSB's own formative "community hub" policy.

"Board and Committee Meetings" contains minutes of both the TDSB's monthly public Board meetings and selected committee meetings (about which, more within), as well as staff reports commissioned and published under the auspices of one the Board's committees.

"Staff Reports" contains every report available on this archive issued by either TDSB staff or the TLC; most also appear in their appropriate subsections, such as under the issuing committee or attached to OV NAP Steering Committee meetings in which the report was discussed.

The "Pupil Accomodation Review" section includes items relating to the Province of Ontario's new pupil accommodation review policy, initiated at the level of local school boards as the opening salvo in any school closure; Vaughan Road Academy was, in fact, the first TDSB school closed under the new guidelines.

Finally, "Press Releases" contains press releases issued directly from the TDSB on subjects relating to VRA and/or community hubs.
