The Max program at Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation - Frisco is a day program that provides comprehensive, transdisciplinary neurological therapy up to five days a week.
Diagnoses treated:
Traumatic spinal cord injuries
Non-traumatic spinal cord injuries
Guillain-Barre syndrome
Critical illness myopathy
Other neurological diagnoses
Admission criteria:
Medically stable and safe discharge home
Goal of becoming more independent in the home/community, return to work or return to school
Continent or working towards a bowel and bladder program
Program offerings:
Individualized physical therapy, occupational therapy, recreational therapy, case management and counseling
Patients can be seen up to five days per week (9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. or 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m.)
Respiratory support, speech therapy and neuro-psychological testing can be consulted in on an as needed basis
Can facilitated referrals for physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R), neuro-optometry and adaptive driving evaluation
